How Green is our Valley?

solar_panel Here at Little Goonreeve farm we have an ongoing mission to make our holiday cottages environmentally friendly. We have used sustainable materials wherever possible in renovating our cottages and thought has also gone into the environmental impact of introducing additional dwellings into a rural setting and the impact of the carbon footprint of our visitors. Solar water heaters, super insulation and general sustainability have all been factored in to make this dwelling as environmentally friendly as possible.

Our aims are…

  • To encourage sustainable tourism which will help support the local economy, via local business and local communities.
  • Purchase local products and services
  • Purchase recycled and biodegradable products wherever possible.
  • To promote good environmental practice
  • All our cottages are furnished with a mixture of antique and contemporary furniture with recycled materials
  • Recycling and composting facilities are available at our holiday cottages.
  • We provide a range of environmentally friendly cleaning products including washing powder, detergent, dishwasher tablets and degradable bin liners

Dog Friendly?

A well-behaved dog is always welcome!

Little Goonreeve welcomes well-trained dogs on condition that they are not in the carpeted areas, on the furniture, and especially the beds, nor left unattended at any time. There is an additional charge or £25 to go towards cleaning up after our furry friends! Owners please bring dog beds for their pets, pick up their dog poo (poo bags are provided) and we ask that dogs are kept on leads on the farmland at all times to allow our free-range chickens, calves and cows to roam with impunity!
